What are Dental Implants?

Dental implants are a type of restorative dentistry that provides a foundation for teeth replacement. The procedure involves using a titanium anchor that's surgically inserted into the jawbone like a screw, and a crown is attached to hold it in place. Most implants are made of a biocompatible titanium alloy and shaped like a screw.

Why do you Need Dental Implants?

Dental Implants are an excellent option for people who have lost teeth During an accident, decay, injury, or disease and want to replace the lost tooth. They provide a better option for the replacement of lost teeth compared to the bridge; because a bridge needs to take support from adjacent healthy teeth, whereas an implant saves those adjacent teeth. The implant is in a shape of a screw inserted into the jawbone. A crown is fixed to that screw in the mouth. An implant allows your dentist to secure it firmly in place, and it will function as your natural tooth.
